Financial Planning Association FPA National is the meeting place for Certified Financial Planner® practitioners from throughout the country. FPA hosts national meetings and is the student liaison to locate local FPA chapters. Use FPA to meet with some of the nation’s top planners and advisors and also develop relationships that could lead to internships and jobs. Students also receive significant registration discounts for meetings and may peruse job listings. Interested in fee-only comprehensive planning? The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors is the membership group for the top fee-only financial planners in the country. An added benefit is that NAPFA provides competitive scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students to attend conferences. Be sure to visit the career corner. The Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals SOCAP unites professionals in the consumer affairs field. Individuals in consumer affairs work to improve the marketplace for consumers, whether they are involved with customer communications, issue and trend analysis, or building customer satisfaction.
